Prerequisites

  1. Install Meltano
  2. Create your Meltano project

Installation and configuration

  1. Add the tap-snowflake extractor to your project using
    meltano add
    :
  2. meltano add extractor tap-snowflake
  3. Configure the tap-snowflake settings using
    meltano config
    :
  4. meltano config tap-snowflake set --interactive
  5. Test that extractor settings are valid using
    meltano test
    :
  6. meltano test tap-snowflake

Account (account)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SNOWFLAKE_ACCOUNT

Snowflake account name (i.e. rtXXXXX.eu-central-1)

Database Name (dbname)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SNOWFLAKE_DBNAME

Snowflake Database name

User (user)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SNOWFLAKE_USER

Snowflake User

Password (password)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SNOWFLAKE_PASSWORD

Snowflake Password

Warehouse (warehouse)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SNOWFLAKE_WAREHOUSE

Snowflake virtual warehouse name

Tables (tables)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SNOWFLAKE_TABLES

A comma separated list of the table names that you want to sync. The table names should be fully qualified including the db and schema name. For example, syncing table1 and table2 would look like db.schema.table1,db.schema.table2.

Role (role)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SNOWFLAKE_ROLE

Snowflake role to use. If not defined then the user's default role will be used.

Private Key Path (private_key_path)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SNOWFLAKE_PRIVATE_KEY_PATH

A path to your private key used for authenticating using Key Pair authentication instead of user/pass.

Private Key Passphrase (private_key_passphrase)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SNOWFLAKE_PRIVATE_KEY_PASSPHRASE

The private key passphrase used for authenticating using Key Pair authentication instead of user/pass.

Insecure Mode (insecure_mode)

  • Environment variable: TAP_SNOWFLAKE_INSECURE_MODE
  • Default Value: false

Use insecure mode to avoid "Failed to get OCSP response" warnings.
