Silicon Labs Thunderboard tap that collect environmental data - temperature, uv, ambient light - from a physical device.

The tap-thunderboard Meltano extractor pulls data from Thunderboard that can then be sent to a destination using a loader.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

If you haven't already, follow the initial steps of the Getting Started guide:

  1. Install Meltano
  2. Create your Meltano project

Installation and configuration

  1. Add the tap-thunderboard extractor to your project using
    meltano add
    :
  2. meltano add extractor tap-thunderboard
  3. Configure the tap-thunderboard settings using
    meltano config
    :
  4. meltano config tap-thunderboard set --interactive
  5. Test that extractor settings are valid using
    meltano test
    :
  6. meltano test tap-thunderboard

Mode (mode)

  • Environment variable: TAP_THUNDERBOARD_MODE

'dump' mode scans for devices and dumps measurements continuously

'file' mode processes the filename in the dataDirectory

Data Directory (dataDirectory)

  • Environment variable: TAP_THUNDERBOARD_DATADIRECTORY

The local directory where thunderboard data can be found (Required for 'file' mode)

Filename (filename)

  • Environment variable: TAP_THUNDERBOARD_FILENAME

The name of the file in the dataDirectory to be processed (Required for 'file' mode)

Truncate (truncate)

  • Environment variable: TAP_THUNDERBOARD_TRUNCATE
  • Default Value: true

Remove file contents after processing (Optional. Default - true)

Device ID (deviceId)

  • Environment variable: TAP_THUNDERBOARD_DEVICEID

Limit output from discovered thunderboards to a specific deviceId (Optional)
